Any arborists out there in the Wilmington, DE area? Or can you recommend anyone from personal or business experience?? I am visiting friends here who have moved into an old house with many large trees which have not received any care for years. IMHO five large maples, one ash, need big time pruning, several large non descript trees require removal(should be relatively easy, no ostacles, wire etc in area and are away from house), and a large walnut looks decidedly unhealthy. Everything could use a good dose of fertilizer. This house and garden is a work in progress, so the work could be phased over a period of time..... Off the top of my head, there is likely upwards of $8K worth of work that could be done here. Your input appreciated.

what species are they?

OK, first input would be to get an objective consultant to take an arboreal inventory and make management recommendations. A really good consultant is Russ Carlson in Bear, DE @ www.tree-tech.com
After the inventory the owner(s) know what they want to do. Then comes hiring an arborist to do it. If the arborist has a difference of opinion with the consultant, they solve it according to the owner's goals.:)
