Anyone sharping a Silky Sugoi?

I bought a silky sugoi 390 a few days ago. It says that the blade can be resharpened with a file. After much searching I found the files on e-bay for almost 30.00 bucks.
This model blade isn't inpulsed harded. A replacement blade is 55.00 so it would be handy if I could sharpen them my self, but you ever look at those teeth? It's like looking in the mouth of a Great White Shark. Anyone ever sharpen their own silky blades, and how did it go? Any tips or suggestions? Thanks beastmaster
 
I asked the same question a year or two back. The consensus seemed to be that you are better off just buying a new blade. Mine is over three years old and still cuts adequately. I have no problems cutting anything in the tree with it. And I'm not sure that I want it to be razor sharp like it was when it was new... I used to cut my thumbs and fingers with it every time I pulled it from the scabbard it seemed when it was new...
 
I have sharpened mine in the past I use a supersmall needle file, and I put the saw in my saw vise and just be carefull. I only sharpen mine if I hit a piece of steel or something
 
I got a file from my local saw shop just for sharpening hand saws. I paid like 25 bucks for it. It was a very thin file and you have to sharpen the blade in three different angles. I broke the stupid file the second time I used it. You will never get it as sharp as new either. In my opinion you are better off just sucking it up and getting a new blade.

Your probably right, but I'll more then likely give it a shot. I already have a bunch of those (old and dull)samarise and corona blades laying around. At lest I have an option with these. Otherwise were probably better off with the inpulse hardened models.
The Sugoi is a bada_ _ saw and on my new job it'll see a lot of use. It cuts better then my little top handle echo. Thanks for all the advice you all. Beastmaster.
