CERTIFICATES & LICENSES / DESIRED AND/OR REQUIRED
•Valid Driver's License - CDL Preferred, but not required
•First aid (required)
•Chainsaws basic use, knowledge, certification
•Aerial rescue
•ISA Certified Arborist
•ISA Tree worker climber specialist
•ISA Aerial lift specialist
•CTSP Preferred, but not required
DUTIES INCLUDE:
Reading work orders and planning for the day in advance; Installing cones for work zone delimitation and parking zone; Conducting tree risk and hazard assessment; Debriefing jobs and conducting safety meetings with all crew and ground team members; Defining dropping and landing zone with ground workers; Identifying traffic and installing signs in appropriate locations; Protecting surroundings such as cars, pedestrians, etc.; Preparing climbing chainsaws; filling with gas and oil, sharpening and checking first engine ignition; Inspecting trees, preparing work plans, installing ropes; Identifying methods for ascending the trees and using climbing spurs; Installing and using false crotch, double-crotching, recrotching and redirecting; Identifying and using rigging equipment when needed; Conducting hazard assessment for rigging; Applying best appropriate techniques for lowering with control lines and/or lowering devices; Identifying electrical hazards; Ensuring proper procedures are followed for debris; Maintaining a clean working environment; Performing other related duties as assigned.
