Dose anyone use armor prus on a hitchhiker. I just order some. I also ordered the bee line.
I was cleaning my gear yesterday and seen the i had worn out the bee line it came with. The orange core is visible in a few spots.
So until till i get my order is it ok to use the worn bee line? Most time i would switch it out. Problem is all other pusik cord i gave is an i2i.
I used it today i retied my Hh so that the orange core is facing out. Bty the core is in good condition.

Trying some. Initial impressions are it is requiring frequent re-adjustment (tightening the hitch), even with an extra wrap. And it is pricey.
Seems to go from gripping very nice to not gripping at all!
Going to try HRC next.

10mm.
Would probably get more consistent results on a fatter used line instead of the new Blue Moon.

What do you mean. Fatter used line. Like well broken in?

As far as the Hh goes. I love it. Works well with my not so used poison ive line, and the well broken in PI line at work. I just wanted to see how other hitch cord works with it.. what is you opinion on the worn bee line in my first post. Is it still safe to use the way i re tied it.

I have been using armor prus for about six months.... Probably about two months past it's prime. It's good at first but will start to glaze and become imprinted.(unable to flip the hitch to use the other side effectively. It's not bad but I would say it's too much money for the amount of time you get out of it.
Now HRC is my preferred hitch cord! That stuff is by far my favorite! Holds well won't glaze ever, soft to the hand, lasts longer than armor prus.
I used bee line once and threw it away IMHO pure junk, binds to tight with my hitch climber and my ZK-2 rope wrench
Ohh and I like 8mm hitch cordage over the 10mm maybe just personal preference. But also don't forget that it is preferable to always use a hitch cord that is at least 2mm smaller than the rope your attaching to.

Originally used my HH with Beeline on Safety Blue HighVee ("fatter" = larger dia). Worked great.
Hardly ever required re-tying Beeline. The lazy part of me likes to keep the HH pre-rigged and ready to go on my climbing line.
Am hopeful the armor prus will find a sweet spot and not be quite so finicky, and if not, will try HRC.

I keep my Hh on the line most of the time. I got a year out of the bee line it came with. I retied it if my route didnt go as pland with the throw line, and i had to clime on the other end of my rope.

Im going to demo some samson vortex from a friend. I like the idea of a 12.7mm line 24 strand.

So anyway i found out my order has been set back a little by fedex. So in the mean time i got some ice tail 8 mm. I hung with it. Haven't been able to climb do to crap weather in pa. Also got some 10 mm armor prus. Thats is some serious "10mm" . Real hard time goin through the dog bone. Sooo. I took.the core out and replaced it with the smaller core from the 10mm bee line. So far it works good. Nice action and it fits well with dog bone. Both are used but not abused. Derick Martin takes care of his gear.

The armor prus I'm using must be only 8 mm because it goes through the dog bone holes easily.
Had to lockstitch the core cause it creeps bad.

Yeah i was goin to question the green and black armor prus.

For my lanyard i have 2 Hc pulleys as a 2 in 1. Anyway the one hitch cord im using is an 8 mm i2i armor prus. Its green and black like the one in yr pic

I had an issue with FedEx this week as well. I always get my stuff the next day and this time it took 5. Wonder what their deal was.

Am finding 8mm HRC a big improvement over the armor pruss. Smoother and less grabby.
Pic shows 1/2" bow shackle (WesSpur) instead of steel biner. (credit given to yoyoman for the idea).
It tends really nice with that little chunk of bungee attached to a Petzl chest harness.

I was thinking of trying hrc after using ice tail. Im thinking ice tail will last a while. What i dont like about it is the knot sets really tight. I also have 6 ft of b line and armor prus that i need to burn bf i get anymore hitch cord.

I have a chunk of ice tail that I've never used, but I'm wondering if threading a piece of 2 or 3 mm accessory cord through the core would help it perform (stay round) better on a HH. I talked with a climber doing demos at Expo (Hartford) who was doing that accessory cord trick. (He was using ice tail on a Michoacan hitch with a Hitchclimber / RW setup).
HRC is way better than armor pruss for the HH, imo.

Thats a good idea. I tried that with the core of my old bee line. Was too big. Ill have to make a trip to eastren mt sports to get some light cord.
