Asplundh JEX floor plate

I'm looking for a new floor plate for my older JEX 12" chipper. Mine is so worn the brush hits the bed plate and won't chip. Can the bed plate be adjusted upwards? Thanks

Asplundh does have the plate but $204. Has anyone ever made one? I think if I had the measurements I could make one.
