I was wondering if any one has try'd the stump grinder or chipper attachments for the bob cats ? Are they worth looking into?

My friend has the stump grinder. They work pretty good but nearly as fast as my Carlton sp8018 trx grinder

I rented one from my local Cat dealer last year. It was a low flow model, $150 for one day(three day labor day weekend). It worked ok, I ground 13-14 stumps in my yard in about 8 hours. I wish my machine was high flow, they also rent a highflow grinder. I bet that thing works pretty good. My only advice is to match the flow of the attachment to your machine for best performance.

Thanks man I will defiantly keep that in mind I didn't even know there was a high flow or low flow model

14 stumps in 8 hours is really slow I ground 69 stumps at a golf course in nine hours with two hours of that being travel time with my Vermeer 652 and the smallest stump being 24" and the largest was 76" just sayin.

As a homeowner and not a professional, I am content with what I got done that weekend.

I'm just starting out on my own and I can come up with the cash for either a stump grinder or a chipper or a bob cat and both attachments I really just want some input on the bob cat stuff until I can afford the other

I started with a skid steer stump grinder. I was never so happy to be rid of that thing. No efficiency at all. I had a hard time making money with it. But it was all I had at the time. I got by until I picked up a good used tow behind. It will work as long as you have the time

If you don't have a chipper now that would be the first thing i would buy. I have only seen 1 stump grinder attachment in use on a Bobcat and it was slow. I think most bobcats are low flow ( or as they say standard flow) as mine is. But bigger $$ buys newer ones with high flow. I would wait and get a stand alone stump grinder. And i would get a Diesel with as much horse power as i could afford.

I got ya thanks for the feed back the chipper has been the first thing on my mind I have been bidding my jobs a little low if the home owner will let me dump the brush behind their property residential area are the worst 7 or 8 30 foot trailer loads I have too drag out of there

You can rent both chippers and grinders. I would buy a chipper first and rent a stump grinder until you can afford one
