Auto-Tune reset

So the reset drill has you running the saw along a log with the tip in the log till it clears up. Does anyone think the mixture would be different if you bury the bar in the wood?
Just wondering.

I get that. I'm curious as to whether the reset is affected by different loads, as in just the tip vs burying the bar.

I don’t believe so. The load just needs to be enough to be safe to run wide open for 3 minutes. 3 minutes wide open without letting off is the important part
