Wondering what others average for MPG in their Grapple Trucks.
State Your:
Truck Make, Engine Model and HP, GVW, Etc.
I know this will vary due to load times and driving conditions. Just looking for Averages.
I own a 2002 Kenworth T800 With a C15 475hp, GVW 60k-73k, 4.10 rear end, and a 13 speed
I average under 4 mpg
Thanks
Jake

'95 International 4900, DT466 (250hp), Allison auto, single axle, 36.2K gvwr, lemco 8000. Got 9 and change empty on highway at 60-65 mph long trip. Between 5 and 6 average around town, between empty out and loaded with logs coming back, pulling a vermeer BC-2000 w/grapple. Like anything though, it gets better mileage if you take it easy.

Yeah I get 5ish when on the hwy. Which is basically never. All my stuff is short runs loading and unloading constantly. Thanks for the reply

90' Mack DM with an E6 300 hp engine and Hood 7000. Get about 6.5 mpg loaded or empty.

1972 International Loadstar 1700, 26,000 GVW, 5 + 2 speed split rear end. 345 GAS V-8.....Runs 60 MPH loaded (if you care to go that fast...) 65 to 70 unloaded...... and I get about 7 to 8 mpg loaded or unloaded. Very consistent little gas guzzler. OH, and i have dual exhaust :)

I do like how neatly and quietly I can sneak into backyards with that truck and grab logs with the Cascade knuckleboom with winch mounted on it. Wonderful little setup, and the 12 foot flat bed dumps too.

Just resealed my injectors and did the overhead. Now averaging 4.5-5.5. Sweeeeeeet music to my ears! With summer fuel coming back I should gain another .3-.5. Fuel prices blow!
