Quick question as I have zero experience with firewood bags. Will they work with 24" firewood? I was just watching some videos of processors and one was conveying directly into bags. I thought that would be a good thing to do if they would work for me now that I have a heavy enough tractor to move them :)
Thanks

From discussions on here, the ArboristSite, it seems the volume of a loose thrown cord is some what dependent on the length of the splits. Longer splits requiring more volume to equal a tightly stacked cord.
Following that, if a large bulk bag holds 1/3 cord of 16" long splits as claimed, then the same bag would hold less than 1/3 cord if it was filled with splits cut 24" long.

Just to be clear this is just my own personal firewood. I'm not really concerned how much each bag will hold, just looking for a way to store it and move it closer to the stove in the season.
Where can I buy a bag or two to try?

ebay, Woodland, and Dino are the ones I've found that carry them.
$1066.95 for the Dino, $865.00 for ebay, $1650 Woodland (100 bag qty). (plus shipping) Not sure if they do 1 or 2 bags. The ebay guy I think does. I bought 6 bags from them this summer.

We switched over to the big bags last year. We fill them right off the conveyor so you never have to touch the wood again. Last year we used the bags from Woodland Mills. This year we are going to switch over to the Dino bags. I like the woodland mills bags, they are constructed really nice and the bag itself has held up pretty good so far. The problem we had with the woodland bags was I didn't pay any attention to how we left the straps after we set the bags. Knowing what I do now make sure the straps are tucked in the bag and out of the sun. The material they use for the cross stitch on the strap disintegrated in the sun. So depending on how the sun hit the strap, that dictated what part of the strap came apart. We are just wrapping the bad straps with duct tape and I am confident that we will get at least 2 years out of each bag. The Dino bags are cheaper, they look to be the same size as the woodland bags. The Dino bags don't have the 2 sides of mesh like the woodland bags do so we will see how that works. The wood seasoned really nice in the bags this year. The woodland bags we could get a full face cord in each bag so that kept everything simple as far as quantity. The 24" lengths will work in the bags, you just won't get as many pieces in each bag but if its for personal use who cares. The bags are pretty heavy when full. We rented a small telehandler last year for the end of the season because our forklift that we bought was not here yet.

We got some from unitedbags.com about $15 a piece...... They work great and hold right at 1/4 cord....keep them in the shade......or tape the handles when you first get them and they will last a long time
