Max, it's on the sale page of their online catalog. Did you make any log ramps yet?

Thanks Scott. If only I could justify another saw I'd buy one. I like my Solo 690 okay and prices on those things are good.

No, I haven't made the milling ramps yet as I am done for the year. But the WoodMizer video gave me the idea to make log ramps by cutting notches in them for resting the milling log on on the way up to the sleeper. I would use the notches to rest the log on for a moment while repositioning the cant hook for another swing. I think that will work.

The WoodMizer is a nice looking unit. I loaned the video to a guy who is interested in getting one -- and can afford it too.

thanks guys...i'm gonna set my 29 year old brother with a saw and didn't want to spend very much unless he was really interested...i'm gonna get one...don't know if his blood has that shot of bar oil that most of us have already................guff

As a point of interest- I had recently e-mailed Bailey's about the apparent lack of the B50 on their web site, as compared with their catalog. They replied that they are no longer going to sell that saw because of new Cali emissions, that they feel will eventually be coming to a state near you. They will keep parts around for a few years.

Kind of looks like they're clearing out the smaller Solos still on hand and when they are gone that will be that.

The saw tech at bailey's told me that it was the same powerhead as the Solo 645. Does your 690 need some company?

Don't tempt me like that. I only have 3 firewood saws as it is. And the price is right. I'll be relieved when they are sold out (or more likely sorry that I didn't get one).

Max, I also have three firewood saws and a milling saw. Do you have a Solo firewood saw and are you still happy with the Citgo oil ?

No Solo firewood saw and that's why it is tempting plus it seems to be a good price for a German-made saw! A guy could just leave it NIB until he needed it.

Here's my lineup:
(Milling)
Solo 690

(Firewood)
Echo 510 (2003)
Jonsered 2050 ('98)
Stihl 024 ('80s vintage)

(Plus a couple Homelite junkers and my old Jons. 451)

I was at the Bailey's website again. I wish the B45 would sell out and the temptation would be gone!

With shipping the cost is about $225.

I wonder if the B45 has a cylinder that comes off from the top or is part of a plastic crankcase?

OIL: I have been using up some Solo and Stihl oil this winter and haven't used the Citgo oil much if at all.

Tell the truth it all seems to work the same -- saws run!

B45

Max, I use my B45 for cutting firewood. I'm not trying to tempt you in any way,I was just giving you a phone number and a name of the guy that could answer your cylinder question. He is a technician not a salesman so no pressure will be made to sell you something.

Scott,

I was joking.

But if I needed another saw right now I would buy one I do believe, but I just bought me a fixer upper small Gravely tractor.

So you do have a B45 then?

How do you like it?

Any trouble with it so far?

The good? Bad? Ugly?
