I have a bandit 1590 xp with a 125 horsepower cat diesel. the engine has over 5,000 hours on it but runs very strong and starts right up. I noticed at the end of the day when i was shutting her down, i idled down released the clutch and let it idle for a minute or two . I noticed a slight smoke which looked to be more white than black. It wasn't real thick white smoke , just enough to tell it wasn't black. Is this something to be concerned about? Things i should check? thanks in advance

White smoke can indicate unburned fuel. You could have an injector popping off before the required pressure. It could also be an indicator of an injection pump problem coming on. If you have not had the injectors tested/rebuilt, that is where I would start.

I would also add - for a 5,000 hour engine a little smoke is normal. If you are only seeing smoke at low rpms and none at WOT, you may not have a problem at all.
