HI I am about to do a demo on a 2100 and was wondering if anyone who owns one would be willing to share their experinces with the machine... Presently I have an almost worn out vermeer 222 it has three wheels. Specifically I was wondering about the bandit for
1. maneuverability. Chasing down surface roots. and turning once you entered the 35 inch gate...
2. production... the sweep is about hte same although the wheel is larger with more teeth... what should I expect... I have the 24 horse 222 and am looking at the 27 hp bandit 2100
Any experiences?

only ever looked at the bandit and was'nt to impressed, have you thought of the carlton 4012 ? have a look back at the posts about the 35hp kubota 4x4 model.

I got to demo that Bandit grinder, with a 30 something HP, Briggs engine, along with a Rayco 1625 Super Jr. The same dealer sells both here, so he brought one of each for me to try. I had two stumps side by side that were exactly the same size and same type of wood.
I ended up buying the Rayco, I liked the way it operated and handled better. The travel speed of the Bandit was slower than the Rayco, I did not like that. also, the control levers were too far apart and required too long of a throw. I could not easily operate the controls with one hand, I had to use both hands. This did not feel comfortable to me. There were a couple of othe small things I did not like on the Bandit, but I can not remember what they were. At the time, the Rayco just seemed better overall. I still like my Rayco 1625. It has done all that I need it to do and more.
