That's too bad. Every brand that gets bought by the Alamo group gets ruined. Cheaper, no parts distribution, and parts become proprietary, expensive, and hard to get. Look up Tiger Equipment in South Dakota, I used to have one of their tractors. It was a great machine, but support went to hell after Alamo bought them.

I also had an Alamo equipped tractor with similar attachments before I bought the Tiger...that was why I bought the Tiger.

I'll have to start considering other brands for my future needs.

It will just go to s*** more than likely.

The Bandit R&D team that decided to go with Hatz for a Diesel engine option on the 65XL should be taken out and shot. Ditto for manufacturing a direct drive machine with no clutch engagement.
My love affair with Bandit is on the rocks.....damn starter trouble again. $$$$$

Good thing I can't afford this new Alamo crud anyways! I have two manuals for the hatz diesel if u need em or I'm just gonna post em for anyone else who might.

Thanks joezilla. Am ok for now.
Local truck shop located a starter for it today that should be here by Friday, for just shy of $400. Bandit bandits were north of $1000 the last time I checked a few years ago.
Air cooled diesel on a direct drive chipper operated in the wintertime up here has become iffy.
Until it warms up, it is a fumigator, and that is if the poor bugger cranks. Using 0w40 full synthetic only helps so much.

I have had folks tell me that is one of the best little diesel engines around but I had one in an old case scatback loader one time and it was always trouble.

It is a nice little engine. Am guessing around 1500 hrs on mine, with very little grief. But parts are spendy, and not widely available up here. You get a little twig or chip jam between the knife / anvil or disc / housing when you go to start the Hatz, and it is some awful hard on the starter.
Ignition key broke starting it a few years ago. Complicated ignition switch gizmo (circuit board), have seen on eBay for around $400.......over in Great Britain. (A slot screwdriver works fine).
