Has anyone bought just the completed bandsaw carriage from one of the better mill manufacturers. Although I have not yet contacted any of them, the only apparent seller is Linn and they look a bit light to me.

My CSM has 3X6" main rails, 39" wide and 4" Cross channels @ 24" and I placed my CSM carriage on angles to the bed that are bolted and not welded. I planned this so if I did find a band carriage, I could adjust the width and also makes for a better level platform as you can make many fine adjustment to the rails with shims.

Thanks

What do you REALLY want to do?
Bandsaw lumber?
There's an entirely different forum/website for that where they will tell you you've got to have 25HP and a $10,000 mill. PM if you want info.
There's a firm called Lumbersmith http://www.lumbersmith.com/ you might want to check out.
I think they are about 50 miles from you, if you can fly like a crow:)
They sell a "head unit".

I think what he wants to do is use a BS mill carriage with his CS mill?

Yes Bob has it, I have an excellent heavy frame that I would like to use and buy just the bandsaw carriage to put on it.

Gemnii, thanks for the link but that unit is might light for my plans.
