What is the best way to clean a bar that has surface rust, grit, and grime?
Thanks.

I would use a wire wheel on a bench or hand grinder. They work wonders on all kinds of stuff, and are pretty fast. Then rinse it off with water, and then put a coat of WD-40 on it.

If you send your bar to me, I can glass bead blast it (for no charge)

I will only do it on hardnose bars though.

unless it is severely pitted, it will look like new when done.

Just depends if it is worth the postage I guess.
