Bar mount differences

I am going to pick up a longer bar for my 116si. I know it uses the Oregon A095/ Carlton 01 mount. I have ran across several deals on K095 /01W mount bars. What is the difference?

I am confused by all the different mounts anyway. I know I have 8.2 studs so would a A041/ 10 fit with little oil hole modification? How about A074/ 26? Even the K216/ Echo mount looks the same.

For that matter, could I use the larger D009/ 81 mount even though it take 9mm studs?

The way it is drawn out is incorrect. The a tail continues rearward perhaps 1/4 inch farther getting smaller, holes matched, contour matched. .325 bars in 13 and 15 seem really a while labeled k.

For a074 stud slot likely needs lengthening and new holes created.

That would depend on whether the clutch cover is robust metal or plastic with inserts. Beyond the obvious.

To go from 041 to 095 I file one adjuster hole toward the center a bit, plug the other, create new oil hole. It might more than the minimum needed.

Care to elaborate on the obvious? I know there is less than a mm gap between them, but we aren't talking about cylinder bore tolerances.

Adjuster hole and oil hole location, front/back and up/down.

I have commented on the three I have been essentially able to make interchangeable. The Stihl 3005 or Oregon 074 has the oil hole kind of high and far to the rear so it is not as easy to make the others fit Stihl. Not sure what the point would be going to any larger slot bar unless the situation is there is another saw that uses such around. Up to 28 inch called length 93dl 3/8 is available for the 095 from Oregon.

I think he may be assuming that you have some sort of spacer, to keep the bar from flopping around.

The A095 and the K095 are pretty much the same mount, the K095 just fits more different saws, as the adjuster holes are shaped a little different. Just use a K095.

Sorry, I didn't look up the different patterns, I thought he meant the A041 had a 10mm slot, I see that all of the mounts he mentioned have the same slot size.

My question is exactly what problem does that cause?

I probably won't get a D009/81 bar, just curious what has happened when it was tried.

Spent some time figuring this out as my Jonsered 2055 is listed with K095 and the newly purchased used CS 2234S is listed with A095. Very good, thanks
