I have a saw with a bar oil vent - vent is located on top of the bar oil reservoir on the left side closest to the fill port. The vent seems to be a sintered metal screen of some kind. Is this common? The issue I have with mine is that the vent constantly seeps bar oil out all over the top of the case, just under the muffler. It is kind of a stinky oozy messy.
Is it common for this tank to be vented?
Can the vent be reduced to keep all that oil from oozing, yet still do the job?
