This has probably been covered but i'll ask anyway.I'm looking for a new 575xp and trying to find best deal. Local dealer around 800.00,bailey's/amicks 700.00,add bar/chain,s&h are you really saving anything? I've been lurking on this site for awhile but i don"t post often. The site is definatley addicting. Thanks in advance for any suggestions . bill

I think you can still get the 372 powerhead for around $565.00 from Bailey's,give or take a few bucks. Save the money and get a proven design to boot!

Probably not. Of course, you can do the math (don't forget local sales tax). With the prices being so close, I'd go with the dealer, at least if they're a decent dealer. Buying the saw from them sets up a relationship that usually means you get better service when you need something from them. My dealer usually throws in some freebies with major purchases; in fact, there's usually at least one item that doesn't get rung up.

Plus, you get the saw in your hands sooner!

Yep, I just got my Bailey's circular int he mail the other day. If I was looking for a bigger saw I would definitely get the 372 from them.

Local dealer here (small town delaware county N.Y.) , is selling 372xp's with bar and chain for $ 360 . One helluva saw ;)

Well, since this dealer is just up in the next county, maybe I should take a ride up there this afternoon. And if he really does have them for that price I'll take a hundred of them. Pay him right on the spot! And to further show my appreciation, I'll pay him a $20 cash "salesman bonus" for each saw. So, he'll have himself a $2000 cash bonus in his pocket for the weekend. Neither his wife nor the IRS will know anything about it.

And I should have them all sold by the end of the year when his accountant tells him that he lost about $26,000 on the deal.

thank's for ideas. I have two older 272xp saws. They have been great saws, I got the chance to spend an afternoon w/a 575xp on 30" hard maple. This is quite a saw.Nice balance , not to heavy, wicked powerband. I've spent alot of time on the business end of my 272's felling and blocking, but the 575 impressed me. bill
