Just finished filling the basement today. If I measured right there is between 10 and 11 cord in there and should be enough for the whole season! Take that oil companies!!! :deadhorse:

My house was built in 1922 and had a coal furnace. Now I have an oil furnace and the oil tank in the old coal room. Im still expirimenting with stacking wood in there.Maybe get 1+ cord in if I stack it real tight. Id love to see a pic of yours.:biggrinbounce2:

when the house was built, the basement was extended under the laundry room, making for a nice wood room. The wood room holds roughly 6 cord, then this year i put another 4 to 5 in the main part of the basement. The basement isn't finished at all and has a tall ceiling so it makes it great for storing wood. I'd get some pics for you, but I don't have a digital camera.. sorry, not up to the modern age yet!!!!! haha

little under 2200 sq ft. I heat all my hot water with the boiler too, so I don't know if that adds much to the wood use. It does seem like a lot of wood to me too, and I've been thinking of looking for a different wood furnace. We'll see. Anything is better than buying fuel oil though!!
