I have a 2002 bc 1000 (1VRU111A521002870) and can't get the clutch to engage the drive on the drum. The belt is tight (when engaged) and has no glazing. I can't get the drum to spin by hand like I can when changing the knives. I looked in the trap door underneath and chiseled away a little piece of wood between the side of the drum and the wall of the body. I jacked up the feed wheel and didn't see anything blocking the drum. I tried a pry bar and the drum won't budge. I don't know if the bearings are bad but I grease them every 5 hrs and the machine has 1600 hours on it. Don't want to take it to Vermeer if I can fix it myself. Any thoughts? Thanks in advance!
