I guess I have been doing to much reading on here and got bit by the saw bug, I went from 0 to 7 in less than a week! Yesterday I was talking to a guy about the Jonsered I am fixing and he asked me if I wanted any more saws to play with. I came home with:

Homelite C-71 (Sitting for 25 years but pulls over)
Mystery Homelite XL-?? (Ran 5 years ago and pulls over)
Stihl 021 (Said it runs, haven't tried yet)
Dolmar 5100S (2 or 3 years old with a scored piston otherwise in great shape)
Husqvarna 61 (Said it runs, haven't tried yet)
Remington Mighty Mite Bantam (parts saw only)

What do you guys think? That C-71 is a mean looking saw. Any idea what model that other Homelite is?

Good start to the dreaded CAD. Congrats.
I can see some vultures circling already...

Post a shot of this one from the right rear or left rear. Depending on where the manual oil pump is, it is either an XL-800 or XL-900(ish).

Kinda looks Super XL-925.

Here are the pictures of the oil pump, should I pull the spark plug out and measure the stroke?

Ramair08, looks like you just cannonballed into the kid's wading pool.

With that variety, you're set,....................... for this week.

welcome to group therapy

luck,greg

Curious what air box and insides of the saw are like.
All that fine dusty black buildup looks like someone used it for cutting burnt cross ties or old tires.

"Super" is visible in a few spots. Super XL-925 is my guess. I've seen SXL-922 and SXL-923 saws too. There were XL-921 and XL-924 saws as well. Not sure if "Super" labeled versions of those were made however. Homelite used "Super" off and on with many saws. In the case of the XL700/800/900 series, "super" doesn't signify increased displacement. In any case, that's a strong old 77 or 82cc Homelite. SXL-925 parts will work with it. Uses the D096/D196 bars, just like an XL-12 or SXL-AO.

Half the fun of CAD is the hunt for new items for your collection.....god forbid you fix what you have on the shelf, got to get your fix with finding another one!

I think it is more "building your inventory" so eventually you can put one together using parts from two or three donors! :) I do have a bad case of CAD but I got all those saws for a song, btw they are all showed in the last picture of my first post. I don't know how to get the pictures to show up without the links. The black on the back of that saw is just oil that has mixed with dust settling on it for years (we have jet black soil up here). Thanks everyone for helping me ID that saw!
