Greetings, I have a customer who have a Beech Tree planted down at the bottom of a hill from a septic tank. It is fully leafed out on backside away from septic. But very thin leaves on side facing septic system. They just had a new tank installed in Fall 2012 because of a leak. I figure Septic Tank Injury from leaking. Now wondering what to do fertilize the tree after a soil test to see what is in soil from the leak. Or let tree allow? Any help would be great. Pictures attached.

How much of the root zone was damaged/disturbed with the septic repair? If it was only a tank replace close to the house I would doubt it would affect the Beach so far away. The first thing I look for when I see something like your issue is a girdling root at the stump on the slow side of the tree.
