Funny thing, I didn't even notice the turkeys...had my eyes on the wood! But turkeys pass through the property all the time whether I'm working or not.

It doesn't get funky toward the bottom sitting in piles?

The couple times I've left wood in piles or stacked tightly in a truck for a bit, it had tons of white fuzzy mold all.over.

Sold 125, processed another 15 for the owb. Not bad for a guy with 2 saws, a splitter with a 4 way and a stake body dump truck although I thought I had about 10-15 cords more. As far as the wood on the bottom, it's just as good as the rest of the pile. FULL sun and wind exposure is key. I had put some piles a few years back in the field but along the edge and had some issues with the stuff on the bottom.

What splitter are you using?

Nice, but now what happens in Jan when we get the Arctic air and you are out? I hope you got a decent price at least
My customers know to plan ahead or be left in the cold. I have some say to me "this looks great, I will call you in January for more". My response is better call in a few weeks because I will be sold out.
