Yep, ask Dan for one - he'll hook you up just right.

The man knows his saws - my 372 is headed up his way for PP'ing, but I think I still need that PP346XP first.........
:D :p :D

Dan is indeed the man for a connection on good running saws, power ported or not. However, if he's still sporting that black leather jacket we may have to start calling him HarleyDan instead of DozerDan.

HI
I just finished up a PP372 today that belongs to trimmmed. It was a pleasure to port that saw, it gave me a beak from the 346s. Tomorrow will be 346 time again. I have one to build for Rich and one for Lambert. That will put me at over 40 PP346s. Maybe some day I will figure out how to make one run half decent. LOL

I had that jacket special made for me in Florida. Its hard to find one made in 6 foot skinny, so I ordered that one made with an extra 2” on the waist and sleeves.
I had my first bike at 13,my first Harley at 15,traded that on a 61 Impala SS, 348,
3 deuce set up, wish I would have kept that one. I still like to ride in my free time, that was 16 miles this year.
He is a picture of my second Triumph; I stuck the first one in a car door at about 70 mph.

I destroyed the driver’s side door on a 67 mustang, pain hurts.
The one that I wrecked was a Bonneville that I bought new in 76, the one I have now is a 76 Tiger. I bought that one out of a barn a few years ago. It was rough but well worth the 300.00 I paid for it.
My favorite look is the old Indians, I like a lot of fender.

Sounds something I did. I had a old lady pull out in front of me causing me to step off of a 750 ninja at 75 mph. Only thing that saved my butt(literally) was my wallet. It kept the concrete from chewing me backside up too bad.

Ben
I would have rather ground my butt off. I was wedged between my bike and the car door.
Did you save that peice of Leather?

Did you save that peice of Leather?
No.
Another time I went I got on the throttle to hard coming out of a corner on a cbr 929. The bike high sided, but I saved it. It beat my to death doing so though. That bike wasnt stable to begin with and with the highside it gave the worst tank slapper I have ever seen. Both knees had the heck bruised out of them.
I dont really ride streetbikes any more except for the two or three times a year i get out my rz-350 two stroke.

If you have your avatar girl deliver and wait while I port your next saw, I may have to do it for free. It may take me a few month to finish up that one.

The first Triumph that I had was nick named the bike from hell. It seamed to have a mind of its own. It would go into a speed shimmy when ever it decided it was time again, no set pattern. The worst one happened after I passed about 4 cars at about 90 mph ,left off of the throttle and hit a small hole in the road at the same time. It shook that bad that the bars flew out of my hands and I couldn't catch them. I did get the bike slowed down to about 50 and it got worse, I tried tapping the rear brake, I also tapped the front one a few times, that was rather hard to do, it was a fly by tapping. LOL Maybe if I could have managed to get my hand back on the throttle and opened it up, it may have straitened out. When I slowed down to about 40 it really got bad and I knew there was no way to ride the bike any longer. That's when I came up with the brain storm, Lay the bike on its left side and ride on top of it. I did just that, it worked out fine for a few feet, slid off of the road and ended up in a corn field. I fixed the bike after that one and the shake was never as bad after that but it was still there.
Call me some time, we can talk bikes and saws.

I have an 82 Yamaha 650. A friend's neighbor just gave me an 80 model as a fixer or parts bike.

I got it from an arbo buddy back in 95. He had bought a Harley Heritage. Wish I found the time to ride more. I enjoy using the bike while doing estimates.

Long Motorcycle Ride in Late October

Speaking of bikes, I just took my last long ride of the year on 2 wheels. Left Friday for Madison (280 miles one way) on my '76 BMW R75/6 w/Luftmeister fairing. Left just after the rain stopped with temp about 36 F. But I had on so many clothes I stayed comfortable and was quite toasty most of the time.

On top: Tee-shirt. Long johns. HEAVY wool Brit submariner's sweater. Another wool sweater. Down vest. Winter parka. Insulated leather parka. Outer belt to keep the air out.

Bottom: Long johns, wool pants, insulated Austrian surplus bib trousers.

Other: Harley-Davidson winter gloves (they are warm). Stocking cap under my helmet. Space socks and heavy wool socks under my East German surplus riding boots. (Beemer cylinders help keep your feet warm).

On the way south from NW Wis. (Hwy-53 then I-94) the road was wet some of the way as I was just behind the rain -- thank goodness. And as I went south the temps rose until it was in the 50s. But 30 miles from Madison the sky got plutonic black ahead and down came the rain! Nothing like being in fast freeway traffic in the rain! So I got off the freeway ASAP and found a Culver's where I parked my bike under an eave of a building and went inside for a burger. Rain stopped, but started again when I took off. The worst was over fortunately and I got to my destination (UW-Mad) just as it was getting dark and with me only slightly wet, not soaked. I was glad!

The ride back yesterday was colder but dry. In the 40s when I left Madison and 35 F. when I got home. Near the Baraboo hills it started to drizzle and I thought I was doomed. But it soon stopped and was dry the rest of the way. North of Eau Claire the sky almost cleared for a while. Temps were dropping though and my fingers got slightly cold. But I rode fast and then faster, passing nearly every car on the highway. Kept in the right lane except when passing and I always use my directionals when changing lanes. I wish other people would do that instead of HANGING in the left lane and blocking traffic. (I call them ass-jammers.)

Needless to say I did NOT see one other motorcycle on the road. At Eau Claire I stopped in Farm & Fleet for a J66 Oregon chain (20% off) and some oil. Then I blasted another hundred miles home where I found everything in good order. Felt like I'd been gone a month, but it was only 2 days.

BMW ran perfectly as always. But the tach finally blew. Made funny noises for years, but then the needle started swinging wildly then around and around like something in a cartoon until it flew off. Who really needs a tach anyway?

So yesterday it started snowing about 3 pm and left a couple nasty wet inches, and it's been dripping and raining all day today. I just missed this crap by one day. Who says I don't have any luck with the motorcycle weather god Jupiter Pluvius!

Did someone mention cognitive dissonance?

Dissonant

Reminds me of the time I was up in St. Paul, MN in February and saw a couple of people on a motorcycle.  The operator had his winter coat on backwards to block the wind better I guess.  Later that night while watching the news I saw a piece about a motorcycle accident with two fatalities.  They were talking to one of the EMTs about it and he said "When we got there one of the two was already dead, and by the time we got the second one's head turned back around he was dead too."

And why wouldn't he be?  Hahaha.
