what's your best deals you've gotten?

i just picked up a 30yd double cylinder chipbox dump truck PLUS a 12" bandit diesel disc chipper.... EVERYTHING runs and works beautifully...all for $4,500 !!!!!!!!!

seller was getting rid of his entire business. he still has 2 forestry trucks and a chuck-n-duck chipper available. i'm thinking about grabbing the 60' boom/dump forestry truck he has.

how about you?

bought a stihl 070 at the weekend in a collective sale it runs and cost me £30 ($60) figure that was a pretty good deal! i didnt really know what it was worth, i know the specs and that they have a good rep so i figured $60 wouldnt kill the bank account.

I think the best deal i have had was on my 372xpw which cost me the equivilent of $600 new in box

WOW! That is a great deal! I am lookin into startin up my own business next year and I have been shopping equipment. Chip dump, chipper, and stump grinder. I do not know enough about boom trucks yet to buy one that isnt more trouble than it is worth from a maintenance standpoint but I am lookin into everything seriously. Trouble is a lot of what I see for sale looks all beat to hell and back. Could you post some pics? Like before and after ones if you end up painting the equipment. I look forward to the day when I can put my own company name on my truck!

I bought this truck 3 years ago for $3700.00. It had 59,000 miles on it. Bought another one just like it but the body was not in as good as shape as the other truck for $2500. The company I worked for at the time was a large company and they bought another company out. The owner of the company sold these 2 trucks to a guy that was pretty high up in the company and he sold them to me. They didnt want the trucks because they were gas engines and their whole fleet are diesels. He wasnt supposed to sell them to me, he was supposed to sell them outside the state to keep the competition from getting them. He was needing some money to have some work done on his house and I guess he liked me so I got one heck of a deal. The truck I bought for 2500 he thought had a blown engine. Come to find out it just needed a tune up and an exhaust leak fixed.

kennertree, that truck rocks! shame we dont have anything like that over here. it's all transit tippers and iveco daily's with chipboxes on the back

Years ago this guy showed up down here from Wisconsin and tried to get a tree service going but after six months or so he was about to starve and wanted to go home. I bought a 630A vermeer , an old wayne chipper and a 1969 chev. one ton chip truck from him for $800.00 and an old 305 honda bike. It all was pretty ugly but it all worked.

When the cops come to arrest you get them to snap a pic of you in front of the truck with the cuffs on. Then I'll believe you.
