Best way to attach timing wheel to crankshaft on most saws?

This is a basic question but what is the best way to attach a timing wheel to the crank shaft, either pto or fly wheel. Something that might work for most saws.

I have never used a timing wheel. But in some of the other threads, people bought or scrounged an inexpensive 3-jaw chuck for/from an electric drill, ran a mounting bolt through the wheel, and used a chuck key to fasten it to the flywheel.

Searched for 'degree wheel', 'timing wheel', etc. to see if I could find the thread. Looks like some guys just use mounting bolts to fit threaded flywheels, or rare earth magnets. Also, some 'build your own' timing wheel tricks.

Philbert hit the nail on the head ! It doesnt get any easier and will work on just about any saw, or small shafted motor. This chuck has 3/8 fine threads, took a little time to center the degree wheel perfectly due to not having a 3/8 adapter for the Moroso setup. Easy to overcome if you can find a chuck with threads larger than 3/8
