Howdy from southern VA. I've lurked on here for a few years now and i guess its time to make an introduction. I have been around saws my whole life because my dad heats his house with wood. Ran saws since I was 12 and still love it 17 years later. I recently finished my first exhaust mod on a MS-250 I've had for 7 years then went crazy and swapped from .325 to 3/8LP and now have a 12" bar on the way for it.( i know, i know that's dumb but its handy) the next saw i bought was a second hand MS-291 that looked like it was never ran. The only change to that saw was ditching the 20" bar and bolting on a 16". My current "big" saw is a Echo CS680 with the 24" bar. I cut a lot of firewood throughout the year with and for my dad. It's mainly hardwood from 14"-40" diameter, usually clean and straight. On another note, I'm in the process of restoring an old Poulan 2300 CVA, it does run currently but the oil pump is broken. Any advice, tips, or tricks is welcomed. Thanks for reading.

Welcome.

Do some research here (AS). Poulan 2000 / 2350 / Craftsman oil troubleshooting is covered well.

Honestly maybe 2300 only needs new Oil Hose & cleaning. If oils like crazy full tank & then later no oil. Cracked or missing oil hose inside tank. Pressurized tank (from check valve) simply pushing flow of oil or air to path of least resistance. Pull out apart & look. Will be obvious.
