Bought one of those BB372 big bore kits from Baileys and fitted it to my 10 year old 371XP.
I only ever cut hard wood and I felt the saw lacked a little torque apart from being a brilliant saw.
The only thing I have done apart from the BB kit is lift the "brow" over the exhaust.
Done about six tanks of fuel now and the improvement in torque is brilliant.
I only have one problem now.
I bought a new 385XP EPI and the 371 will cut as quick in hard wood.
Run them back to back and there is nothing it.
Should of bought a 372XP and big bored it!

Just send the 385 out and get it modded then it will eat that 371bb

That avatar is distracting Ich!
Haven't tried it against a 460 yet but it would be interesting.
I tend to think that because the 385 is an EPA saw it makes it quite restricted and that would even things up between the saws.
I bought the 385 for larger wood when needed.
The problem with over here Buzz is we do not have saw builders.
If there is any mods I can do I would be interested as most work I would be capable of doing myself.
Any idea what has been done to your 385 Buzz?
Thanks.

I know there was some porting done and exhaust work but have no idea on numbers you would have to talk to one of the builders on here they might help you out.Or do a search on modd saws you might find something good luck.
