Fished in the MSSA tounament this weekend and did pretty well. We may have placed in the Chapter tournament that my friend belongs to. I caught a 46.5 in Rock Fish on Sat. We rushed in to weigh it as soon as the scales opened. The guys who fish the tournaments say the fish start to dry out and loose weight even on ice. We had caught 3 fish by the time the scales opened. So, we checked the 2 biggest we had. We could still catch one more fish. We screwed up by checking our 24 pounder because the first fish we caught, when we went back out was a 33 pounder, and you can only check 2 per day. Our 3 day total is 75 lbs, it would have been 84 lbs if we had not of jumped the gun on checking the smaller fish. I'll let you know the results of the tournament as soon as I find out. My fish did loose just under 1lb from the time we weighed it on the tournament scale and when we weighed it for my citation. I'm the one in the Plymouth T-shirt, Joe.http://www.buzzsmarina.com/index.php?/fishtales

What kind of fish?

We fish off the west coast of Vancouver Island. Our fish don't look like that.

Looks like fun.

Locally, we call them Rock Fish or Stripers, they are Striped Bass. They live in salt and breed in brackish water. They can acclimate to fresh water and have been introduced to many large man made lakes, Joe.

Glad you caught those big buggers, now maybe some more crabs will get a chance to live and grow. Lester

Nobody believed me when I said with Rockfish coming back crabs would drop off. Now they say the water is too salty or not enough salt and all it is, is big hungary Stripers, Joe.
