wondering if anyone has any information on a big giant vac log splitter. it has an 8hp kohler engine on it. Wondering what they are worth and any info I can get. I just purchsased one at an auction and they said it was a 30 ton model. very unusual to see a log splitter this close to the ground and it even has fold up wheels to sit it directly on the ground . Seems like a pretty heavy duty unit compared to my troy built 27 ton.

Made by Scag, same people that make commercial mowers. There is information out there manuals, brochures, ect.. I just typed in your description on a google search.

Thanks for the info. i saw the manuals and downloaded one for my splitter .as just wiondering if anyone knew more about them or not ? I bought it for 600.00 as it is heavy duty compared to troybilt and such. i am going to sell my troybilt to recoup my money.

This splitter has an automatic feed and return(rail sits under the control valve and has tabs that hit the lever of the control valve ) you ujst push it forward and it goes on its own" wouldn't be made like this anymore as of safety" . But it works well. it will move forward on its own to the end of the stroke and then return and go into neutral. i find it a pretty neat feature. the wheels will pivot to lay on the ground but i want to build it up higher. i probably will weld an axle on each side and put larger wheels to get height .
