This is some pictures of last Saturdays work. I cut the log to just over 10' long, rolled the but end onto a 12" or so diameter log, and the tip onto a 6" or so to try to get some gravity working with me. The log wasn't completely round, it was 28 1/2 by 31 or so inches. I rolled the log so the 28 1/2" became the width. The whole log turned into 3" thick slabs, four 28" wide ones, one 24" or so on the top side, and the two slab edges should make for good benches. Hopefully, these boards will make for some good bar tops or tables. Hope the pics load, this is the first time I've tried posting pics.

Those slabs would make me feel pretty dang old by the end of the day. Big wood always does....
