ok so im not sure if this is the right forum for this topic. Ok well we are cutting down a birch tree or so we thought. with a closer look to the tree we all noticed that it had maple looking leaves, but had the look for a grey birch. I cant seem to find anything on it. we think its a hybrid. ill try to get a picture or two up 2morrow before we chip all the brush up.

If it smells like spearmint it is a birch I actually chew the green membrane between the bark and wood on the small branches its almost like spearmint gum.

i dunno man the bark looks like a silver birch, the limb structure and seed pods are of birch, but it had maple shaped leaves. every birch i've seen has a circular leave to it. ill post some pictures 2morrow. Gotta finish cutting it down, Also its like 32inchs at base and stands about 45ft right up by 33kv line. pretty big birch. Thought maybe it was a maple cause i have seen older maples bark turn white and start to flake off like a paper birch. but the limb structre is that off a birch and its reallllly heavy wood to lol. well ill hit up some pictures 2morrow

Gf ended up moving us for the day and a different crew came in and finished it. we concluded it was a maple of some sort though.
