I have a black walnut to take down it is 16" to 18" diameter. And is real straight and pretty tall. Is this thing worth selling to a saw mill? Or should I take it and cut it up for firewood? What is walnut bringing these days? And would saw mills buy just a couple logs?

Sad thing is, everything is down right now.

Your best bet, imo is to mill it for yourself and see what you can sell for hobbies.

Maybe a good time to look into getting yourself a CSM?

I would consider cutting them into 8 inch pieces, seal both ends with clear paint or wax, and sell them on ebay for bowl blanks.Guys who turn wood into bowls love em, and sometimes you can get some pretty decent prices for em.

Logger

Have a local logger give you a price. What part of MO. are you? I have a couple logger outfits number. Mo and KS
