Seriously , Is the Blaze King worth nearly $2K more ? what are your facts /opinions ?

Absolutely. That is, if you intend to use it to heat your home. It is especially "worth it" if you are away from the house all day, or sleep all night, and have a house that needs to be heated full time. The burn time of a BK is unmatched by any other manufacturer. That king you specified will run 40 hours.

You specified the king model of BK which is like 4.3 CF compared to a much smaller drolet. Not apples to apples. Your dollar difference sounds about right. Really, the bigger question is why is the drolet so cheap? See, about all other stoves in the market from "major" brands will cost up near 2000$. Even the Woodstock which would be my #2 choice for a home heater.

I understand the role of a cheap non-cat for burning stuff in an environment where burn time is not important. I own an NC30 for that. It save me thousands over buying another BK.

Two totally different units .. Like comparing a Honda accord to a dodge 2500 truck

How is that Nc-30 working out for ya? Thinking of getting one as well.

The nc 30 puts out lots of heat run it for one season thus far. Only downside is scooping out ash. Hard to beat value wise and it's near the top in efficiency. 8 hour burn time is pushing it and coals up sometimes.

I was thinking the same, exact thought while looking at those same two stoves for replacement of an old wood stove that I use to heat my 2400 sq ft house during shoulder seasons.
I'm still not sure which one to buy...price has kept me flipping back and forth.

I bought the Drolet HT2000 for its large firebox at 3.7 cf and it's great burn times and low emissions.
It's quality built by proudly skilled craftsman in Canada (Quebec) with a great reputation for service and easy find replacement parts. (not that you'll need them much)
Price was $500 less than NC30 and $2200 less than the BK King.
Delivery to the door was free and $350 free starter kit.
Can't beat that.

Just got the Drolet running . Bought it last February . Send a blaze king let everyone know next year . I kept records of the amount of wood I burn, nothing has change much for years . What I seen so far with the drolet . Hardly any smoke coming out of the chimney . Now I can start a fire an the smoke goes up the chimney an not in the house . The budget never got past this point . The real goal was not to clean the chimney every month . So far this is the best advancement since seasoned wood .

IIRC you bought a Drolet Tundra furnace when they were "giving" them away back in the spring, no? And you had a Shelter (Firechief) furnace before?
