not real sure yet i would like to make a kitchen table at some point...i was able to get 9 real nice slabs out of the log
 
Any time I see that much blue, I'm thinking NAILS! Beautiful piece. A trick I learned from an old sawyer (unfortunately, I now fall in that category) is to pour wood alcohol (drugstore variety) on the wood to see what the piece will look like with a finish on it. It really brings out the color. The alcohol evaporates quickly and does not stain the wood. Hope you find more like it!
 
i hear you on the nails..i was fortunate there wasn't any dang metal haha.. all the tree's i mill are from land fills or residential tree removals this old girl was planted 1890 on a fine estate in mass .and the color in the magnolia doesn't appear til about 20 minutes after it's cut.must be when it hits the air or sunlight..it is def the coolest wood i have cut to date i just never know what color it's gonna be.A surprise in every cut haha
