Boot rebuild into calked soles

I have 3 prs of boots that I could have corked soles put on and would like your experiences with longevity of each boot as corks. 1st pair is Whites Smokejumpers, 2nd pr is Hawthorn Smokejumper, 3rd is Wesco loggers. I normally wear the Whites and Hawthorns when hiking and on fires not sure how they would hold up as corks though so I am leaning towards sending the Wesco's but would like any info before I decide. Thanks

Don't send the Wescos to Wesco because they might put their own style of calk on them. The calk is different from the regular screw in ones and you can only buy them from Wesco at $0.50 PER SPIKE. No other style will fit.

Straight up no BS there. They got a racket going on there westie corks.

Send in the whites. Have them put in the extra full length leather slip, like they put in line boots. It will make the sole stiffer and the cork souls will last longer. They will be a bit longer getting used and breaking in, but when you do it will be worth it. Up and down, over and under all day the boot will not flex as much at the ball of your foot, and your feet will not get as sore or tired as fast, the boot/sole will support the foot instead of the foot holding itself.

When you do this ask if they will install ceramic instead of metal. They will last alot longer and take more abuse better.

In the past White's would work on Wesco's. I tried. I don't know about now though. I would go with the White's you have now and send them in. I prefer a spring heel rather than a block heel for corks.
