bought a new bar and chain for the 041, supposed to be good stuff. now the only problem, now i have to learn to sharpen full chisel chain.
this saw needs to cut so i can save someface. the first time out my 011 outcut it along with a jonsered 2045, my father in laws, you could hear him laughing over the saws.

Chain sharpening is exactly like sex.

The more you do it the better you get.

Not really, round filing a semi or full is the same.

Get the proper file size for your chain and a holder that you are comfortable with. Your file needs to extend over the tooth 15 -20%, 3 - 4 smooth full length strokes per tooth and rotate your file regularly, clean it out with a card file fairly often.

File from the inside out always, do all the righties then all the lefties and then do your rakers.

The semi is more forgiving however.

Sharpening is the same, but the cutting will be different, Full chisel will have a more agressive bite than the semi chain so be aware of it. Also full chisel more likely to kick back than semi chain so be careful. Good luck :)

Oh i forgot your chipper file angle will probably be different between the semi and the full chisel.
