For you firewood peddlers looking for business, check this out.
< jnfirewood.com > out of Minnesota sells guaranteed two Y.O. seasoned sticks of split hickory, red oak, and white birch overnight to YOUR DOOR.
Price ? ~ $40. for a 30 lb bundle with ~ 8-10 sticks. Now that's a whole lot more elegant than the convenience store plastic bundles of spruce for $10.

Short plug in this weekend's WSJ for gifts including lacy loungewear, a $3400. cashmere robe, bubble bath $70., and matching PJ's for $175. :sweet_kiss::sweet_kiss:

Hmmm...I am on major route to Washingtone State Univ and Idaho college/univ (not sure which. Just 20 miles from the stadium. Have had a couple tailgaters stop and want a few sticks for partying. Wonder how many bundles I could sell out of a stand right by my driveway. Say Locust bundled about the size of the grocery ones $8.00. Of course that does away with my "This wood not for sale signs".

5 gallon bucket to measure and some twine to tie up the bundles is your friend Harry...heck, you could at least make gas money for to cover your 60 mile excursions to find the last trees on the Palouse :D

My neighbor decided try something different this year. He is selling 1/4 cords stacked and wraped on pallets for $100 delivered. He has an A-Frame setup on the back of his truck with a chain fall he can load 2 pallets on at a time. I went with him a few weeks ago on a delivery to a richie neighbor hood. When we showed up all the "Men" of this neighbor hood were in the driveway having "cocktails" we unloaded the pallet in the driveway next to the garage. He made 10 sales right there because all the other guys now decided they needed wood for the winter.

Lots of folks do that around here, but for more in the range of $3-$4 a bundle. Of course, for camp wood, people generally just want dry, they don't care if it's willow or oak, just that it burns.
