I was just curious who uses these. Maybe this is a stupid question, but i have never actually seen anyone up here in the Pacific Northwest use one.
Just curious what you would use them for?

Well at least 3 of us use them here, myself, 458-Lott and Pollock 777. They're great for experienced users bucking logs. That's what they were intended for. Safety is an important concern, but, I think a bow used by an experienced sawyer with all guards in place and with care for bucking(not limbing or felling) is safe, or at least as safe as a chainsaw can be. Historically they were used by cutters of firewood and pulpwood. I saw a black gentleman as a kid that was doing tree service on a property close to my parents. He must have been an old pulp or firewood cutter, but he did everything with it..felling bucking cutting, it seemed huge and scary to me as a 6 year old kid, but man I was impressed with his skill. Bows are great, buit be aware of the increased kickback risk. They have a high potential for abuse; abuse is use by an inexperienced user, removing any of the safety guards, or using it for anything other than bucking fell logs.
