I cut the trees and decided to pay a guy with a band saw mill to do it because it would have time consuming with my chainsaw mill. I have them posted on clist, but no bites yet
Box Elder, which is a soft maple. Ambrosia maple, from my understanding, is not a tree species. It is the name given to any type of maple with the ambrosia coloring.
Box elder is a species of maple (Acer negundo). It is easy to identify because it is the only maple with compound leaves, and one of the few with green twigs (sassafras being the other). It s a shame that the red color fades with time. Good luck selling the boards. That's a nice looking pile of lumber!
