in a recent buy i got a hold of a box of 340 parts.. deciding if i should piece it together and see what the deal is or have it available for parts.

thanks for the support.

that 80 stares at me every time i get into the barn.

will go through my allen wrenches... take the top off... see if theres something with the wires going on... and then see where all the fuel is splashing or leaking from.

fine fine.. i'll fix the 80

then maybe bring the 340 coil down the street and see if its ok.. theres a tester at the cycle shop.

Now you're cooking with gas!

wore the spring out on it finally... the 80 that is... found a parts lot to support that however. found out one of the wires was disconnected.. so getting the spark back was simple enough... found that one source for leakage may have been the lead off the fuel tank that exits to the clutch/sprocket area. geez.. guess this might just be a carb kit after i straighten out some of the bolts that want to rattle themselves out.

not done yet.. but i'm less ticked at it.

340 age

hard to say.. came with a bunch of old homelites a factory refurbished mcculloch weedwhacker motor... and that box

its a little plastic number.. so who knows

Sounds like the current 340 then, not the one from the 1970s....;)

Btw, I believe the 340 is the first model number they "reused", but a new 240 is also on its way as a replacement for the 142.....

Bad practice, imo.....:bang:
