I knew it was a mistake signing on here!

I have gone from 3 old Stihls to 7 saws in just two weeks!

I got all the old Stihls on trades for one thing or another.

Usta just go out and cut firewood with em, pay the shop to keep em up and sharpen the chains.

Came here to learn more bout doin it for myself and look what happens!

It's hell to be compulsive.

How did I wind up with so many 50cc saws? (and NO 60's)

Wait... the 029 Super is 59 cc's AND I did a neat muffler mod I learned about here. (really brought her to life!)

Spose I'll be naming them next.:)

Got THIS ONE brand new on e-bay for $209.00. Thought it would be a great little clean up-limbing saw around the house. (yard full of shedding elm trees)

Amazing what you can talk yourself into for a new saw!

OK....I'm done buyin saws (maybe)

In my shop you can see a saw in every direction you turn if you stand in the center.

You think you have it bad? I do not even know how many saws I own. And they are mostly big saws. 066's 100 cc Macs. Some running some not, some parts saws, some saw parts.

Then there is the phase that you will go through with the tool side of things. I have three bench grinders with various buffing wheels, grinding wheels and wire wheels. There is a porting station with a foredom, dremel and another dremel. A special bench with the chain breaker and spinner mounted. Then there is the horizontal bandsaw. A delta rockwell belt sander ( floor model). Welder and tank and set of torches.

Stainless pipes everywhere...

Ugh, Santa please bring me a Plasma cutter.

Good luck.
Scott.

Nice line up of saws, how do you like the 401? By the way I think you need some Huskys in there to make it complete.......

I'm lucky (or unlucky) I guess. Been looking for a used large saw. Cant find one. There is a 056 I might talk the guy down on. But what about parts..

When it rains it pours. You might have a few more before it's over!!!!hehehe:cheers:

Man that is really sad how someone could be so weak and end buying saws they really don't need.Everyone knows you only need 3 saws at the most...........
Man that is really Pathetic and Sad....I really feel sorry for you.....

Welcome to AS !!

"Nice line up of saws, how do you like the 401?"

Don't know...neither of the Makitas have arrived yet (e-bay purchases)

Got home with the new 5100 this afternoon...don't know how she cuts yet but she's 0 to 14,500 RPM's in like...a split second!

"By the way I think you need some Huskys in there to make it complete......."

PLEASE... don't get me started in another direction!
Actually no husky, full line dealers close by. Plenty bottom end Huskys in the discount stores though.

SO....why am I still watchin 37 saws on e-bay??????????

For instance...how cool would THIS SAW look laying around, in my way, at my shop?

Well, at least... it's cheaper than collecting Colt Single Action Army's! :)

Ha, join the crowd, Dan!
I started a tree service in September with another guy and on Nov. 1st I owned 2 saws, a little, inherited Homelite and my MS270C. As of Dec. 4th I own 7 saws. Some for repetition to backup existing saws, and others for expanding the sizes of bars I can support.
MS270C (bought years before I thought I'd go into the tree service)
MS290 (Got it for a song)
009L (limbing/backup climbing saw)
335XPT (limbing/backup climbing saw)
372XP (partner said it was a good deal)
David Bradley, unknown model number (this was purchased for novelty/historical value but I am told it runs if I can get the starter cup replaced)
Little Homelite (will be given to my Brother in-law as it is a good "starter" saw)
Partner has a 338XPT, 141, 359 and 371XP.
I am in the market for a 395XP and a 3120XP, eventually.

Chris
