I was just looking at the web site for Bugbarrier. I e-mailed the founders (which includes an entomologist). It seems like a novel idea, but spendy ($24.95 for a 24" dbh tree - just for the product.) I don't feel like putting them on for nothing, so additional cost.

Anyway, has anyone used this product?

Thanks.

I think the burlap and twine work rather well.

This stuff is just a step up from that.

Maybe price both and sell the BB as the more effective. Looks like BB is only $.33 per inch so on one or two tree the cost is not that different, it would be when you have one of those 40 tree properties that the differance would show.

I figured that you and everyone else were getting the vidios too, so I pitched it. Is the insert impregnated with any chemicals, or is it just sort of a mesh over a foam block?

Duct tape works for me!

JPS, does not contain any active ingredient to kill the critters. I think there is too much cost per tree that couldn't be done with cheaper (i.e. burlap, duct tape, etc. materials. They must have a bit of R&D into the product.
