Anyone know what these critters are? They are all over my parents property...they seem to like dead wood, they're all over the fence posts and things...but I did find a few in a green ash on their property. My dad said he's seen them moving along the fence like a snail. Interior British Columbia is where they are. That's bailing twine for size perspective.
 
You got me wonder if its like those shipworms that get on green or untreated wood in saltwater? What do they taste like?
