A guy local to my brother is selling this. Obviously it needs a handle/tank assembly, recoil cover and air filter cover.
The concern is not being able to start it so I’m not sure what all is damaged. What would you be willing to pay for it? What is it worth fixed? Thanks in advance

I`ll bite, for that saw as is, $50. It`s just a parts saw and one cannot tell how much hidden damage there is, never assume its a cheap easy fix.If in very nice good running condition, $400. tops.

He’s asking $350 so that’s a no go for me. Thanks for your help

I would not part with much more than $50 of our money ($30-35 of yours) for that, simply because of the unknowns, the price and availability of parts and mostly because of what it is.
If Stihl were guilty of producing a lemon model- this one was it.
If the guy finds someone to bite at $350, he will be laughing, but in all honesty, he is damn near a criminal for asking that for what the buyer might get.

true, but the mtronic version seemed to be better, not perfect, but better

I have 2 Ms441 saws, one carb screw driver and M-tronic. They are fantastically responsive and comfortable, easily wipes the floor with a 372xp or my 044.
That being said there's none to little AM support for this saw ,so big money for parts from stihl or horse trading. Clutch , oil pump ,and chip deflector interchanges with other models.
They are also not easily disassembled or assembled there's a wide learning curve for these saws , most mechanics won't work on them, being cost prohibited at an hourly rate.
The above mentioned saw would only be $100.0 tops to me .
