I'd like to know some of ya'lls opinions about the Butterfly II as an all around saddle. I just got one here about a month ago and there are a few things I'm not to fond of. I came from a sliding D ring saddle to the Butter Fly II. I know it takes time to break a saddle in, but it seems to me there are a few draw back to the Butterfly II. Such as the straps in the back never stay the same some times they'll even come totally out in the tree. Also it seems as though it tends to ride up into your crouch. So it would help me out a lot if some of ya'll can tell me or show me how you've got it set up. Thnxs ahead of time..

I like the butterlfy, I climb in mine most of the time. I modified mine just a bit because it didnt seem like it kept my weight centered while tied in. There are two shackles, one on the left and one on the right that connect the upper and lower loops to the bridge. I put in a screw link between the upper loops and the shackle to help even out my weight in the saddle. Kinda hard to explain, I'll go get a pic to desribe it better.

I have the same problems as you. My elastic straps wont stay tight, and ALL my other adjustments fall loose during my climb especially with a Tophandle saw or bigger hanging from my belt. Forget it if I am climbing with a big saw its like every other cut I have to re adjust.

I brought this same subject up here recently and over at TB. Someone mentioned to stitich your adjustments in place with heavy diy thread once you find the perfect spot for them.

I think I might have found a solution. To my elastic straps comming loose. Find where it feels comfortable to you and re looping it through the top. I use my Butterfly II all the time. I need to solve this problem to where I can adjust it I f I need to. So the stitch won't work for me. I really want to solve this problem. Because you need to be comfortable with your saddle. Let me know what you think about re looping it through the top. Thnxs
