Buying a 346xp on ebay for a canadian

Hi i've seen a couple 346xp brand new on ebay for about 530$ plus 70$ shipping to Canada. That same 346xp is 799$ in Canada!!
i wonder if some of you ever buy a chainsaw on ebay and did you have to pay custom fees. maybe they can ship it with a low value on the package. i don't wanna pay 800$ in Canada ...

If you had posted this on the "chainsaw" forum, you would have gotten some answers.

BTW, i could have bought a new 346 about a month ago for $440.00 USD and even though i was tempted, i turned it down. The place was going out of business...

Unless the seller is shipping via USPS (UPS and fedex have pricey brokerage charges etc.....)
Then it might be a good deal if the selling uses the right customs tariff on the customs declaration (fyi, chainsaws are duty/import fee free if the proper code is used on the documentation).

All that aside be advised that dependant upon the "new" dealer here in Canada, do not consider that you have any warranty what so ever.

Many dealers "up here" do not sell at msrp, and if you are close to the border, a road trip to the US can get you a nib 346 for 450 and your gst when you cross back, not to mention you can buy a 24 of beer for $11!
