Looking at a Wallenstein processor. Live in the US and could easily drive to Canada to pick it up. Wondering if anyone has done this for other big ticket items and what taxes/tarriff I would have to pay. Would it offset savings from the exchange rate?

If the processor is tariff exempt Wallenstien should have the paperwork for it so there won't be any hassle at the border.

I think they only sell thru a dealer network so likely have to find a Dealer anyway and they could tell what the process would involve. Might as well be a Dealer closest to you but on the Canadian side. Warranty might be an issue but they could explain that too.
I know a local company that sells into various States every day. Pretty sure they are a Wallenstein Dealer too so might be able to do everything for you and save you a few bucks.

Best method? Convert US to Canadian and take cash? Credit card and just let them convert? Finance is probably the least beneficial b/c the Canadian dollar could strengthen.

Thanks
