Looking to buy a chipper. Almost got scammed on CL. I'm looking for a chipper. When the guy said he would cover the S&H and there was no sales tax I figured it was a scamm and did more research threw google check out.

Is there any legitment place to buy used chippers besides a dealer... but dealer is probably the best place I realize

if i get the newer chipper i am looking at, i am selling mine. Its a '85 morbark model 200 12" chipper. 88 hp john deere engine.

Craigs still has some good stuff. Just make sure you can see it in person first. Lots of scammers out there with alleged amazing deals.

You can "search all of craigslist" on a few different websites if you are looking for something really specific.

I bought both of my chippers off of craigslist. a 2004 bc1000xl and a 1996 morbark 2400. Both times I got a great deal and the chippers have worked out awesome. I couldn't imagine going to a dealer for a chipper. I honestly don't know how anyone other than municipalities and large corporate companies can afford that ####. like 40gs plus for an 18"...... nuts. I paid 11500 for mine. 12k for the bc1000.

Just make sure you can try the chipper out in person first, definitely don't send anybody money. Do the deal with a handshake. I have also looked on treetrader, equipmenttrader, ebay, tractorhouse, and machinerytrader. I have always found the best and closest deals on CL.

40g's used we where looking at an 1890 and it was 73k friggin insane. I went with an 08 hurricane with 225 hp and still cost me 47k.

If you know what your looking at you can save a lot of money in the used market. I saved almost half even at 47k new the tag was almost 80.
