I stopped at an estate sale and picked up what looks like a 34” Husqvarna bar. What should I look for to see if this bar is still usable?

Bent or not? That might be the worst defect. Then check the side rails for an even height and being flared out from the rails. Uneven rail height height means a crooked cut. Flaring edges on the sides will have to be filed off. Finally, measure the depth of the groove. It could be too shallow for the drive links to sink all the way down. If too shallow, that will wear off the pointed ends of the chain's drive links.

Philbert and others will likely add more to what I just wrote. Lots more defects are possible.
